Looking Out For You
We take our responsibility to be a good neighbor seriously. NSA contributes to hundreds of worthy causes in the Greater Fort Wayne area. In addition to sponsoring local festivals and contributing to charitable events, NSA invests in our "We're Looking Out For You" program, which seeks to use our unique position in the community to be aware of ways we can help prevent crime and help those in need.
Our History
NSA started operations in Fort Wayne in 1966. The company has since grown to having over 120 trucks on the road, employing over 220 people. NSA is a major presence in the solid waste industry, serving nine counties in Northeast Indiana, as well as a portion of Northwest Ohio. In May of 1997, NSA merged with Republic Services, Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, creating an even stronger company with nationwide resources.
Republic Services is one of the three largest providers of solid waste services in the United States, with over 13,000 dedicated employees, 56 landfills, 93 transfer stations, and 135 hauling operations. Republic is a Fortune 1000 Company, and is publicly traded on the NYSE under the symbol RSG. Widely recognized as the most financially stable company in the industry, Republic has assets of $3.2 billion and is the one of the only companies in the industry with investment grade ratings from Moody's and Standard & Poor's.
NSA Today
Today NSA provides commercial and industrial waste removal services to thousands of businesses and serves the entire city of Fort Wayne, over 80,000 homes, with residential trash and recycling waste removal services under a municipal contract. We also provide residential waste removal services to 20 other cities, counties and towns under exclusive municipal contracts, adding another 120,000 plus homes served. A large number of home owners in unincorporated areas also benefit from our services.
GM saved $2.5 Million in fuel costs in 2006.
NSA operates a landfill at 6231 Macbeth Road, West off Smith Road, South of Engle Road. In 2002, Toro Energy constructed an eight mile underground pipeline from the NSA landfill to a nearby General Motors facility Southwest of Fort Wayne. Methane from the landfill is piped to GM for use as fuel for one of its boilers. General Motors saved $2.5 Million in fuel costs in 2006 by using this renewable energy source. In addition, this gas to energy project helps the environment by reducing fossil fuel emissions and benefits the entire community by improving air quality.

Committed to Safety
National Serv-All is committed to excellence in all areas of our business so that we can serve our customers better. We demonstrate this commitment by investing in equipment and technology and, most importantly, by investing in people. To protect our customers, employees, and our environment, we provide extensive training for our work force. Our drivers are trained in the Smith System, a driver training program that promotes defensive driving, as well as "Coaching the Refuse Driver," a National Solid Waste Management Association training program. Each month training meetings are held to review topics such as safe lifting, hazard communication, accident review, LockOut-TagOut, confined space awareness, spill prevention and control, and many other topics related to trash collection and driving safety.
