- What is your holiday schedule?
- We observe New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Usually, when a holiday falls on a weekday, service for that day is performed one day later, with Friday routes on Saturday.
- What is your schedule for recycling pick-up?
- Recycling is picked up every other week. Download our recycling calendar.
- Where is your landfill, and what are the hours it is open?
- The NSA Landfill is located southwest of Fort Wayne at 6231 Macbeth Rd. off of Smith Rd. It is open to the public, weekdays 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM, and Saturdays 8:00 AM until Noon.
- Why don't you take leaves?
- Leaves are banned from Indiana landfills by State law, except in very small amounts. The City of Fort Wayne provides leaf collection services, as do some other communities.
- On my billing, what is the "Fuel Environmental Fee"?
- This fee covers the continuing increase in compliance costs and in meeting new and changing environmental standards, which includes, but it not limited to landfill cover material, engineering costs, environmental testing and maintenance of environmental systems. This fee is not a government mandated tax. The fee also covers the Fuel Fee element, which will vary as the unpredictable indexed price of fuel varies.
- Do you have online billing?
- Not at this time.
- Is there a charge to pay by phone?
- No charge. Just phone our Customer Service Center to pay by phone, using Mastercard, Visa, Discover, or even your personal check.
- Why do you charge for bulky items?
- Not everyone has bulky items to discard with their trash, so they are billed based on each item we have to collect. When bulky items are set out with the trash, it takes extra time and labor to pickup the items, and it often requires a second truck to do the job.
